Miroslav Horák, Ph.D.
Miroslav Horák, Ph.D. (Czech Republic) works as an assistant professor at the Department of Languages and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies, Mendel University in Brno. His specialization is anthropology and sociocultural ecology. Besides that he is dedicated to linguistics. Miroslav's research focuses primarily on drug addiction treatment in therapeutic communities, the use of traditional Amazonian medicine, and its therapeutic potential. He previously published several books, eg. “The house of song. Rehabilitation of drug addicts by the traditional indigenous medicine of the Peruvian Amazon” (2013), “Ayahuasca in the Czech Republic [Extended version]” (2019) or “Drug addiction treatment in therapeutic communities. Case study from Peru, Nicaragua, and the Czech Republic” (2020). Miroslav is a collaborator of the Ayahuasca Legal Fund. As a member he participates in the Czech Anthropological Society and Beyond Psychedelics.
